Description"Killing yourself to Live" "Hole in the Sky" "Snowblind" "War Pigs" "Paranoid" Black Sabbath LIVE on Don Kirshners Rock Show 1975 1-Killing yourself to Live 2-Hole in the Sky 3-Snowblind 4-War Pigs 5-Paranoid This includes all songs in mp3 format as well. Large size but worth the dnld! Don Kirshners Rock Concert was a must see show by us at that time, Incredible in the fact that he had all the acts that the local tv/radio stations refused to air because they basically hated The HARD Rock Acts, plus the Bands performed Live, no lip syncing allowed (they didn't need to do that anyways!) as was per the usual on most shows of that type in that day. This is a little blurry because the guy that "promised he has the 1080p version basicaly screwed me" so eff him !!! He will get NO credit from me. An absolutley awseome concert nonetheless!!! btw I encoded this maybe 5 times to try and get the very best out of the original that I could, took alot of time, so I would LOVE to name the SOB that screwed me on this HD video. says he's a Sabbath Fan but I don't think he's old enough to even have any knowledge of when Sabbath played the Filmore in San Fran all those years ago and Ozzy stated they were doing lsd almost every night. ENJOY!!! Dedicated to the Smith Valley Gang IN. in the Early to mid 70's Tina S., Jeff K., Steve D., Darryl S, Bob J., Randy A. (Blue!), Donna (RIP) My Last girlfriend and Cindy C.(RIP) my first girlfriend. so many more yall know who you are and those were some of the greatest of times. btw Tina I do have my arms where my legs should be and my legs where my arms should be! lolol (I really said that to Tina my first lsd night) lololol she drew a pictire of me like that the next day! lolol This is my most favorite lyrics from the set, there are so many, but these lyrics are my life: "Well people look and people stare Well I don't think that I even care You work your life away and what do they give? You're only killing yourself to live Killing yourself to live Killing yourself to live Just take a look around you what do you see Pain, suffering, and misery It's not the way that the world was meant It's a pity you don't understand Killing yourself to live Killing yourself to live" BLACK SABBATH Following the break-up of their previous band Mythology in 1968, guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward sought to form a heavy blues rock band in Aston, Birmingham. They enlisted bassist Geezer Butler and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, who had played together in a band called Rare Breed, Osbourne having placed an advertisement in a local music shop: "Ozzy Zig Needs Gig – has own PA". the band changed their name to Earth (which Osbourne hated) and continued as a four-piece. They decided to change their name again. A cinema across the street from the band's rehearsal room was showing the 1963 Mario Bava horror film Black Sabbath starring Boris Karloff. While watching people line up to see the film, Butler noted that it was "strange that people spend so much money to see scary movies." Following that, Osbourne and Butler wrote the lyrics for a song called "Black Sabbath", which was inspired by the work of horror and adventure-story writer Dennis Wheatley, along with a vision that Butler had of a black silhouetted figure standing at the foot of his bed. Making use of the musical tritone, also known as "The Devil's Interval", the song's ominous sound and dark lyrics pushed the band in a darker direction, a stark contrast to the popular music of the late 1960s, which was dominated by flower power, folk music, and hippie culture. Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford has called the track "probably the most evil song ever written". Inspired by the new sound, the band changed their name to Black Sabbath in August 1969, and made the decision to focus on writing similar material, in an attempt to create the musical equivalent of horror films. Don Kirshner's Rock Concert is an American television music variety show that ran during the 1970s and early 1980s, created and Produced by Don Kirshner and syndicated to television stations. It premiered on September 27, 1973, with a performance by The Rolling Stones; its last episode was in 1981.Kirshner had been executive producer and "creative consultant" on ABC's In Concert series which debuted with two shows in November and December 1972, in the 11:30 p.m. time slot usually held by The Dick Cavett Show. The programs, taped at the Hofstra Playhouse at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., featured performances by Alice Cooper, Curtis Mayfield, Seals & Crofts, Bo Diddley, The Allman Brothers Band, Chuck Berry, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Poco, The Steve Miller Band, and Joe Walsh. Their rating more than doubled the average rating of The Cavett Show and even topped NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in some markets!!. In Concert became a bi-weekly series in January 1973. "Right now, we have more artists than we know what to do with," Kirshner's music director Wally Gold told The Washington Post late in 1972. "We pay them scale to appear, which is way below what they usually get for a concert, but they know that the publicity is well worth it. So everyone wants to be on. We're getting hundreds of calls. At first, we had to beg the artists to appear. Now they're begging us." In September 1973, Kirshner left In Concert -- he received producing credits for three more shows—to launch his own syndicated "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert." The premier, on September 27, 1973, featured The Rolling Stones, taped in London, in their first appearance on American TV in more than four years. The program featured many of the popular performers of the day during its run. Other notable guests included Rush, The Eagles, KISS, Foghat, The Ramones, Kansas and The Allman Brothers Band. As I said this was THE must see TV Show during that period! THANK YOU MR. KIRSHNER!! Lyrics "Killing Yourself To Live" Well people look and people stare Well I don't think that I even care You work your life away and what do they give? You're only killing yourself to live Killing yourself to live Killing yourself to live Just take a look around you what do you see Pain, suffering, and misery It's not the way that the world was meant It's a pity you don't understand Killing yourself to live Killing yourself to live I'm telling you Believe in me Nobody else will tell you Open your eyes And see the lies, oh yeah You think I'm crazy and baby I know that it's true Before that you know it I think That you'll go crazy too I don't know if I'm up or down Whether black is white or blue is brown The colors of my life are all different somehow Little boy blue's a big girl now So you think it's me who's strange But you've never had to make the change Never give your trust away You'll end up paying till your dying day "Hole In The Sky" I'm looking through a hole in the sky I'm seeing nowhere through the eyes of a lie I'm getting closer to the end of the line I'm living easy where the sun doesn't shine I'm living in a room without any view I'm living free because the rent's never due The synonyms of all the things that I've said Are just the riddles that are built in my head Hole in the sky, gateway to heaven Window in time, through it I fly I've seen the stars disappear in the sun The shooting's easy if you've got the right gun And even though I'm sitting waiting for Mars I don't believe there's any future in cause Hole in the sky, gateway to heaven Window in time, through it I fly Yeah I've watched the dogs of war enjoying their feast I've seen the western world go down in the east The food of love became the greed of our time But now I'm living on the profits of pride "Snowblind" What you get and what you see Things that don't come easily Feeling happy in my vein Icicles within my brain (cocaine) Something blowing in my head Winter's ice, it soon will spread Death would freeze my very soul Makes me happy, makes me cold My eyes are blind but I can see The snowflakes glisten on the tree The sun no longer sets me free I feel there's no place freezing me Let the winter sun shine on Let me feel the frost of dawn Fill my dreams with flakes of snow Soon I'll feel the chilling glow Don't you think I know what I'm doing Don't tell me that it's doing me wrong You're the one who's really a loser This is where I feel I belong Crystal world with winter flowers Turns my day to frozen hours Lying snowblind in the sun Will my ice age ever come "War Pigs" Generals gathered in their masses, just like witches at black masses. Evil minds that plot destruction, sorcerers of death's construction. In the fields the bodies burning, as the war machine keeps turning. Death and hatred to mankind, poisoning their brainwashed minds...Oh lord yeah! Politicians hide themselves away They only started the war Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role to the poor Time will tell on their power minds Making war just for fun Treating people just like pawns in chess Wait `till their judgement day comes, yeah! Now in darkness, world stops turning, as you hear the bodies burning. No more war pigs of the power, hand of god has struck the hour. Day of judgement, god is calling, on their knees the war pigs crawling. Begging mercy for their sins, Satan, laughing, spreads his wings...Oh lord, yeah! "Paranoid" Finished with my woman 'cause she couldn't help me with my mind people think I'm insane because I am frowning all the time All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satisfy Think I'll lose my mind if I don't find something to pacify Can you help me occupy my brain? Oh yeah I need someone to show me the things in life that I can't find I can't see the things that make true happiness, I must be blind Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry Happiness I cannot feel and love to me is so unreal And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it's too late Video: Frame Width: 1280 Frame Height: 976 Data Rate: 2002kbps Total Bitrate: 2708kbps Frame Rate: 29.97 FPS Audio: Track I Dolby Pro Logic II MIX @ Bit Rate: 384kbps Channels 2(stereo) Audio Sample Rate: 48 khz Track 2 7.1 ch stereo MIX @ Bit Rate: 1536kbps Audio Sample Rate: 48 khz Sharing WidgetAll Comments |
