For his new album Another Run Around The Sun on Iris Records/Red Music, Ben Taylor truly decided it was time to do it on his own. In fact, in Ben's mind, this release marks the singer's first solo effort; on his previous release, 2003's critically acclaimed Famous Among The Barns, Ben was backed by a group of musicians and went under the name The Ben Taylor Band. The new album is an acoustic-driven effort showcasing Ben's unique vocals and songwriting skills. Recorded in London and produced by Kevin Bacon (not the actor/musician) and Jonathan Quarmby, Another Run Around The Sun explores a more acoustic stripped-down sound for the musical offspring of Carly Simon and James Taylor. Taylor's signature velvety vocals lend his lyrics a subtle poignancy on songs that explore recurring themes of, in Ben's words, love, loss, and John Forte. (Forte is a friend who's in jail and who wrote the album's only cover song 'More Beautiful' and co-wrote 'Digest' with Ben). 2005.
