La storia viene raccontata dal padre del protagonista, che inizia ricordando quando era il direttore di un piccolo albergo, che curava con molto amore e l'aiuto dei due figli, Skeeter e

Wendy, a cui raccontava bellissime favole ogni sera. Tuttavia gli affari non andavano bene, e fu costretto a vendere l'albergo a Barry Nottingham. Questi gli promise che, se in futuro il

figlio si fosse dimostrato abbastanza in gamba, avrebbe potuto persino dargli la direzione. A questo punto la storia si sposta nel presente, dove Adam Sandler nei panni di Skeeter Bronson è

un tuttofare nell'albergo, maltrattato da tutti tranne che dal suo strambo amico Mickey (Russell Brand), un cameriere. Un giorno sua sorella (Courtney Cox), che non lo vede da quattro anni,

lo invita alla festa di compleanno di sua figlia Bobby e...............




In 1974, Marty Bronson builds the Sunny Vista Motel in Los Angeles, California, with the intention of raising his son Skeeter and his daughter Wendy in the place where he works. However he

is not a good businessman and the hotel goes bankruptcy. Marty is forced to sell his motel to Barry Nottingham that promises to hire Skeeter in a general manager position when he grown up.

Years later, Barry builds a new hotel; forgets his promise to Marty; and Skeeter Bronson is only the handyman of his hotel. The general manager is the arrogant Kendall, who is engaged with

the shallow Barry's daughter Violet Nottingham. When the Webster Elementary School where Wendy is the principal will be closed to be demolished................
