1. Wells Fargo (Alan Shacklock) 06:14
2. The Runaways (Alan Shacklock, David Whiting) 07:12
3. King Kong (Frank Zappa) 06:40
Recorded "straight" with no overdubbing or electronic trickery - the spontaneity and live feel are set off by Dick's comment at the end!'
4. Black Dog (Jesse Winchester) 08:03
5. The Mexican (Alan Shacklock) 05:45
"In 1973, a British art-metal band called Babe Ruth released a song called "The Mexican" that opened with Spanish guitars, then turned into the Doors' "Riders on the Storm" then Ennio Morricone's Sergio-Leone-movie theme "For a Few Dollars More" over an absurdly realized Latin disco rhythm two years before disco existed..."The Mexican" was not a certified hit, but it became a secret cult favorite in discos...then rapped over by Funky Four Plus One and...Soul Sonic Force." This track interpolates from "Per Qualche Dollaro in Piu" by Ennio Morricone - he seems to be a favourite of the band - A Fistful Of Dollars appears on the Babe Ruth album.
6. Joker (Alan Shacklock) 07:42

----

Janita Haan : Lead Vocals
Dave Hewitt : Bass, Vocals
Dick Powell : Drums, Percussion
Dave Punsh: : Electric Piano, Piano
Alan Shacklock : Guitars, Vocals, Organ, Percussion, String Arrangements

Have had parts of this amazing album playing in my head for nearly 40-years, yet somehow never got hold of it until now. Fronted by Janita Haan, ~ an incredibly close blend of Janis Joplin and Robert Plant and very well supported by other accomplished musicians.

1. FLACs Ripped from: 2-Album Compilation: First Base / Amar Caballero, CD Beat Goes On 382 (1998). Cover Art scanned from the same CD. a rel="nofollow" href=" http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=8829
2. Wasn't impressed with Amar Caballero, hence not here :)
3. Lyrics included. Try AIMP & MiniLyrics.
4. Don't miss included: Babe Ruth ~ First Base ~ ProgArchives Reviews.MHTML file
