Wasteland 03:25 Total playing time 18:42 Ashes of Eden was formed in the year 2000 by Armen Apekian, Munsoor Khan and Andy Kerr, three guitarists who wanted to create a melodic metal band. The band was soon a full unit with the addition of Mike Rochford (vocals), Dano Apekian ( bass), David Arango (keyboards) and Tim Jacobs (drums). After over a year of writing and rehearsing, the band was ready to perform its first show. Mixing the sounds of Bay area thrash metal, melodic death/black metal, with a commanding live show, the band was quick to get a positive response from fans. From a nearly sold out first show with Montreal locals Tantrumn and Violent Marv to performances alongside world class artists such as Kataklysm, Monstrosity, Deeds of Flesh and Anonymus, Ashes of Eden have refined their sound and become a tightly knit group. In 2002, the band began recording their first EP entitled Ruins of the new Dawn and have since sold over 500 copies. Shortly after the recording keyboardist David left the group to pursue other musical interests and the band continued on as a six piece, all while forging their unique sound. May 2004 saw the departure of founding member and guitarist Andy Kerr for personal reasons, and a final show was played with Andy in Trois Rivieres, Quebec alongside Blinded by Faith, Despised Icon and Unexpect. Since Andy’s departure, the band has been re-arranging songs to fit the more traditional line up of two guitarists, writing new material and making plans to record their first full length cd. The band is now ready to get back to doing what they do best, delivering a high energy, dominating and neck injuring metal assault on stage. Related Torrents
