Even if you have a key file it still may not work because many apps chech the license to see if you are in their database and if not popup a warning. This is why it is better to get a patched or cracked app.

The only one I had a problem with was Greenify. It still works with v1.95 and lower. The rest of the keys work perfectly. I have all of them installed on my phone with the latest versions of the main applications. You are right though. It is hard to find working keys.
