A radio dramatisation of J B Priestley's brilliant stage play. In the early 1900s, a wealthy industrialist's party is interrupted by the arrival of a Police Inspector. A young woman who worked in his factory has committed suicide. Slowly it is revealed that each member of the family could, in some way, have caused her to take her own life.

The twist at the end will come as a shock.
