This is a reply to an anonymous downloader who referred to what we're doing as Piracy...No offense to you or anybody on KAT, PB or any other P2P site but, I would rather everyone NOT use the term "piracy". It's sharing. It always has and always will be sharing. 30 yrs ago we were all doing it with Cassette's and VCR's and nobody said a word....20 yrs ago we were all doing it with CD's and DVD's and nobody said a word...today we're doing the exact same thing with digital files and EVERYONE has a shit fit. In 1996 the courts solved this problem by attaching a small fee to every type of digital recording device sold in the U.S. This fee would go to the RIAA and MIAA to compensate for lost revenue. Everyone was happy until the P.C. showed up in every household across America. The reason people get their panties in a wad is because P.C.'s, Laptops and Tablets are not (by definition of the courts) considered a "digital recording devices" since recording is not their primary purpose, therefore, no fee attached. The RIAA and MIAA have since attacked in every possible direction and have yet to win a case...they intimidated quite a few people into paying huge fines (as apposed to going to court) but they have NEVER won a case that has gone to court.
We as P2P members LOVE to share with others. We are not entering anywhere forcibly, we are not threatening, intimidating or menacing. This (by using the word piracy) is what the industry would like the general public to think of us. On the contrary, we are simply sharing with each other the same way we've been doing for 30 yrs.
Thank you for listening and cheers to all.
