A rich industrialist Oswald Mundus wakes up in his bed in a feverish delirium, he was haunted by nightmares about the dark, diabolical machine. The house is quiet, and the floor beneath him reeling at the behest of some infernal machine: it knows only that his children are in great danger, and that their salvation in his hands.
