Description
Albert Collins : Love Can Be Anywhere (Even In A Guitar)
Released : 1968 Label : Liberty Format: Mp3@320 In 1965 Albert Collins moved from Texas to Kansas City. Though he'd had a hit in '62 with the instrumental "Frosty", he was still a relatively unknown name, and was working day jobs at the same time as playing live to support himself. His next big break came six years after "Frosty", when he was discovered by Bob Hite, lead singer of blues-rock band Canned Heat. Hite persuaded Collins to move to California, and got him signed to Imperial Records. His second LP, Love Can Be Found Anywhere (Even In A Guitar), was released in 1968 (its title taken from a Canned Heat lyric). It was some more funky R&B in the Albert Collins style, with biting guitar, great horn arrangements and almost James Brown style rhythms. Like its predecesssor, it was almost entirely instrumental, with just one vocal number. With this period in his career Collins started to become very popular in the burgeoning blues-rock scene, and went on tour with Canned Heat and The Allman Brothers Band. Tracklist: 01.
