Akubi Object have forged their own unique brand of deathrock by infusing chaotic rhythms, experimental sounds, and an unapologetic Numan-esqe synth element. When these recordings were produced back in 1996-1997, members of the band were also working regularly around the Los Angeles area lending their talents to such legendary artists as Rozz Williams, Eva O, and Gitane Demone. A five song EP was released in very limited quantity on cassette although it found a much wider audience over the years as the tape was regularly copied and traded and later through other means of digital dissemination. A track 'Black Day Rewind' was recorded for the 'Merry Maladies: Best of Malaise Music' 2CD compilation and would prove to be Akubi Object's most widely recognized song. Included here are the entire recorded works of Akubi Object from that era; the original 5 song EP, the compilation track, and an unreleased noise track all digitally remastered from the original DAT tapes.
