Note2: To get 5.1 output from the PS3 over optical SPDIF, your audio equipment will need to support AAC decoding. Optical SPDIF does not have the bandwidth for uncompressed 5.1 and the PS3 (currently, firmware 2.10) does not support re-encoding the AAC to Dolby Digital or DTS.
