Description
ACD Systems Inc., today began shipping ACDSeeÖ Pro 2 v.2.5, the highly anticipated advanced version of its award-winning ACDSee Pro 2 photo management software. Developed for professional photographers, ACDSee Pro 2 lets photographers view, process, edit, catalog, publish and archive their photographs with unparalleled speed and ease of use. Led by fast RAW file viewing and batch processing, ACDSee Pro's feature set is designed to increase productivity with its wealth of professional photo management and customizable workflow tools.
In ACDSee Pro 2, photographers can view their RAW files faster than ever before. ACDSee Pro's non-destructive RAW processing allows photographers to adjust the white balance, exposure, sharpness and noise, without altering the original RAW file, and save the settings as a preset to apply repeatedly to multiple RAW images. ACDSee Pro complements the professional workflow with support for DNG and RAW format support for the latest DSLR models, including the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, 1D Mark II N and EOS 5D, and the Nikon D2X. To ensure viewing and printing accuracy, ACDSee Pro 2 also features color management support with ICC color profiles. Packed with advanced workflow tools, ACDSee Pro 2 allows professional photographers to get their post-production tasks done quickly. Using the Batch Processor tool, photographers can make multiple adjustments to multiple photos in a single operation, which can be saved as a preset and used repeatedly. Photographers can also set IPTC information into groups of photographs at one time. Visual photo tagging allows photographers to quickly cull photos after a shoot for fast selection and deletion. With the Compare Image tool, up to four photographs can be examined at a time, complete with histogram and exposure details display. Cataloging options in ACDSee Pro 2 include keyword, categories, rating and notes, meaning that photographers have a powerful set of organization tools to search, sort and manage their photographs. ACDSee Pro 2.5 includes the following new capabilities: Organize up front - With the new Import Photos feature, you can organize your photos as you acquire them from your camera or other storage device. Save time by setting categories, EXIF, IPTC and more as you import new images. Simultaneously rename, auto-rotate, delete, set the destination and create backup copies. Embed all your metadata - Improve portability and protect the data in your custom metadata fields, including categories, keywords and ratings, by embedding them in your imagesÆ XMP fields. You can even embed data in file formats that donÆt include IPTC or EXIF fields, including PNG, PDF and GIF. That means you can easily share your ACD metadata with other ACDSee users, and protect critical metadata. Save your searches - Build complex searches based on folder name, file name, location and metadata, then access them again and again, with the new Saved Searches feature. See more with UNICODE - View more images with ACDSee Pro 2.5Æs UNICODE environment. You can now browse images with file names or metadata that include characters which are not part of your local systemÆs language settings. Enjoy editing peace of mind - Go ahead. Get creative with your pixel-level editing. ACDSee Pro 2.5 saves a copy of your original image, so you can restore your original at any time, even after multiple editing sessions. Add a finishing touch - Polish up your photos with a custom border, drop shadow, or edge effect. Enhanced slide shows - Experience the new and improved Auto Slide Show feature. Add pan & zoom, black & white, and sepia effects, plus set your slide show to MP3s. Customize your preferences - Hit your workflow running. Configure the improved Startup Experience to set your default start folder, browser display scheme and catalog your files - all in one place. Update to ACDSee Pro 2.5 includes the following fixes: Database Conversion - The Properties pane now displays EXIF and IPTC tabs for selected images from converted databases. Database Backup - Photo disc thumbnails are now included in database backups. Embed feature compatibility with APD files - The Embed Database Information in Files feature no longer affects APD files. There is a compati-bility issue between ACDSee Pro 2.5Æs Embed Database Information in File feature and ACDSee Photo EditorÆs APD format. APD files are now skipped when running Embed Database Information in Files. Full compatibility will be addressed in a future release. Image Viewing - Image flickering has been resolved. 12/16/2008 This update build 358 to ACDSee Pro 2.5 includes the following fixes: Database: - Users can now choose which files they want to embed database information into. - Users can now easily retrieve a list of all items that need database information embedded with the Embed Pending special item. - After Embed process completed, user can now view errors and/or feedback on embedded files. - Users can now choose never to create XMP Sidecar files. - Converting a database from a previous version of ACDSee now only flags items that have database information for embedding. - Embedding progress dialog now indicates filenames. - When XMP Embed feature cannot write to a file it will no longer disable the program. Edit: - Skip feature in Copy To function now operates correctly, skipping only duplicate files. - Tagged image maintains tagged status after editing and resaving file.
