Description

APJ MP3 "Release 2": This is the final MP3 release, thoroughly tested & corrected. Thanks go out to everyone that contributed by pointing out the errors in the first release; quality is always a top concern.

Don't like MP3? Or your devices won't play it (not very likely)? No problem... you can check out my other releases:
* (643MB) OGG; Ogg Vorbis, a popular codec with great sound and the smallest file sizes!
* (812MB) M4A AAC (LC); another popular codec, allowing for smaller file sizes.
* (2.49GB) FLAC (lossless); great for creating your own conversions!

Included in this torrent...
* Pimsleur's Japanese Level 1; 30 Lessons + 30 Readings [3rd Ed]
* Pimsleur's Japanese Level 2; 30 Lessons + 30 Readings [2nd Ed]
* Pimsleur's Japanese Level 3; 30 Lessons + 30 Readings [2nd Ed]
* Miscellaneous texts (optional) including the Owner's Manual.

These are the current, up-to-date editions of the Japanese courses! Each level contains over fifteen hours of audio, including "readings" (or "notes" as the publisher calls them) that cover various cultural aspects. For each level, complete all lessons before moving on to the readings (e.g. listen to lessons 1-30 and then readings 1-30).

All audio files are highly compatible MP3 format, capable of being played without hassle on a wide variety of digital devices. They were converted from the original Simon & Schuster Pimsleur Japanese CDs (valued at approximately $700, so you're welcome).

From Simon & Schuster website:
It’s now possible to speak and understand a foreign language effortlessly. The world-famous Pimsleur Method™ combines well-established research, most-useful vocabulary and a completely intuitive process to get you speaking right from the first day. All Pimsleur® courses feature real-world context and flexible vocabulary enabling you to learn your new language in a fluid, natural way. It’s the simplest way to start speaking a new language today.

Japanese is spoken by about approximately 122 million people in Japan. There are also speakers in the Ryukyu Islands, Korea, Taiwan, parts of the US, and Brazil. Pimsleur's Japanese teaches a polite level of Japanese appropriate for most situations in Japan. Learn Japanese today with Pimsleur.

I was making up my own medium-length sentences by the sixth or eight audio file (of course limited to the vocabulary that had been taught by then, which is more than you'd think!). The grammar is taught, just not in a boring way like how it's taught in American schools (which I hated). If you want to learn more about Pimsleur's, I'd suggest Google.
It's not required or even recommended for you to be following a textbook for this program. Just listen to the first couple of lessons and you'll understand; it's a completely integrated experience. The only thing you won't learn from this is reading/writing.
Thank you for this upload!

I have been wanting to learn Japanese for a long time and it seems I struck gold with this torrent.

Thank you very much**
**sorry, I meant 'Domo arigato gozaimasu' ;)
If you insert "Pimsleur Japanese I, II, III Audio Dialog Notes By: Martin E. Psinas" on Google, you will be directed to the transcriptions for the initial dialogs and important words from every lesson. It is something similar to the transcriptions made for level 1, although not so detailed as those, but helpful nevertheless. I wish I had find this sooner.

It is not the link from Scribd I'm talking about, though. It's the one from ishare.edu. It will be one of the firsts, I think. Couldn't put the link here because Kickass flagged it as a spam ¬¬'
thanks!! I've been looking for this for forever!! I lost my physical copy. ><
Best Program Ever!
Rosetta Stone can eat me trying to charge what they do for that shit. It makes me want to pay for this. I learned more in an hour with this than days with Rosetta Stone.
I found Rosetta Stone to be... annoying. They don't explain anything, they expect you to just pick it up through context. Not everyone likes learning that way (I certainly didn't). Pimsleur's actually explains shit, and prepares you to build your own sentences early on.
@evilelect Well I'll tell ya what, if you decide to pay for Pimsleur's Japanese, get the digital version (currently $335, about half the cost of the CDs @ $695). Dunno why you'd bother paying for it though, if you already have this downloaded. Maybe pay for something else, like a course on reading and writing Japanese... or maybe buy a different Pimsleur course than Japanese. Then, if you have a change of heart, you can be a pirate yourself and create a torrent for the rest of us. It's a win-win.

I don't think Rosetta Stone is bad. Quite the contrary, I think Rosetta Stone is very good at what it does. The one big problem with RS is that it isn't meant for beginners, in my opinion. Many people go to Rosetta Stone Japanese thinking it will teach the basics but it won't, and that's why I think there are so many people displeased with it.
@Starconqueror If only RS wasn't marketed to beginners, there'd be no problem then. ;) The commercials I remember were about people who needed to learn fast, say for a business trip to another country. Maybe some people can learn fast with Rosetta Stone, but I think you can learn to speak/understand faster with Pimsleur's (though it doesn't cover the written language).
Thank you very much, really needed this.
Those are the latest editions; they sell them like this as a set, despite their editions being different. They've updated them separately over the years, apparently reworking the first set one more time than the other two!

(So no, it doesn't matter. They still go together.)
So I assume that this down. contains the all the mp3's from pimsleur ever made?
Thanks for the up, btw.
It's the complete set of comprehensive Japanese courses; I, II and III (also known as Phases 1-3, or more colloquially as Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced). They were encoded from the original 48-CD retail set. More information on the courses can be found here: http://www.pimsleur.com/Learn-Japanese/Japanese-I-III/9780743557535

Or separately (more detailed):
http://www.pimsleur.com/Learn-Japanese/Japanese-I-Comprehensive/9780743523530
http://www.pimsleur.com/Learn-Japanese/Japanese-II-Comprehensive/9780743528832
http://www.pimsleur.com/Learn-Japanese/Japanese-III-Comprehensive/9780743528856

To be clear, this is not their digital MP3 version; they didn't even sell an MP3 version until recently (and I believe their bitrate is lower than mine). I've also released these courses in lossless FLAC (.flac), in Ogg Vorbis (.ogg), and in AAC (.m4a) formats; you can just click on my name to see my other torrents here on KickAssTorrents, or go to http://www.halofubar.com/#torrents for links.
