Feature length crime thriller based on the novel of the same name by Joan Smith and directed by Antonia Bird. On a trip to Paris, lecturer Loretta Lawson finds herself ensnared in a net of deadly intrigue by an unknown assailent. Borrowing a friend's flat for the trip's duration she wakes up to find an unwelcome guest as also arrived during the night and that person is now lying dead in the next bedroom. Realising a murder has taken place and fearing for her own safety she decides to stay quiet until she has spoken to her friend, Andrew Gardner, who owns the property. Returning back to the flat, following the day's lecture she is shocked to find a cover up has taken place and all signs of the murdered body have disappeared. Without any evidence Loretta asks the help of her friend, Bridget Bennet and they decide to investigate for themselves, only to belatly realise this crime follows her right back to her college in Cambridge.
