The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a British comedy-drama about a group of British retirees who thinks going to India is a grand idea. They are enticed by the lovely advertisements about the newly restored Marigold Hotel and given false dreams of a life with leisure. It's directed by John Madden and starring Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel and Tom Wilkinson. What seems like a feel-good comedy about life needs a good score to go along with it and Thomas Newman is here to provide it.

The way this score sounds to me is indescribably good. It's easily one of my favorite Thomas Newman scores and one that I will listen to for years to come. This is undeniable proof that you don't need to call A.R. Rahman every time you want a great Indian sounding score. It's a score that you get addicted to and can't put down. Go get it!
