This is the US promo 12", the first release on the Jump Street label, ripped to 16/44.1 FLAC in April 2016.

As one Discogs reviewer put it: "One of the greatest low-tech, low-budget electro soul records from the Paradise Garage era."

This hard-to-categorize and in-demand underground dance classic sounds a bit rough around the edges, with very cheap keyboards and drum machines. It also has a very loose feel, thanks in part to the meandering keyboard & guitar riffs, and coproducer Tee Scott's use of rhythm boxes which drift in and out of sync. The overall vibe, though, was a perfect antidote to the increasingly slick, ever-harder club sounds of the second half of the '80s.
