Description

James Louis "JJ or Jay Jay" Johnson (1924-2001) set the benchmark for jazz trombone technique. Upon hearing JJ, some experts thought he must be playing a valve trombone (easier to play fast and be in tune). IMO only Frank Rosolino can hold his own with JJ technique wise.

Following JJ's death I assembled this MEMORIAL COMPILATION. It consists mainly of tunes from a Mosaic set. Hard bop lovers rejoice! ..........Dt
