Description
Theodore Shaw "Teddy" Wilson (1912-1986) is IMO along with Oscar Peterson the most widely appealing of jazz pianists. With inherent elegance the themes are stated and embellished upon without any hint of pretension. His swing is profound.
Beyond the approval of the public, Teddy was a Musician's musician. Not many musicians get enthusiastic support from both types of listener. This re issue contains material from 5 sessions, including some wonderful solos by Ben Webster who contributes to 4 of the 17 tracks.............Dt 3 solo piano tracks 8 sextet tracks 6 quintet tracks the cover pic displayed with VLC player is incorrect Sharing Widget |
