White Lies - Taxidermy Release Notes: The turn of the 21st century saw a post-punk revival in British and American indie rock, which soon started appearing in many different countries as well. Bands like Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Bloc Party, Editors, The Bravery and Stellastarr* made music with recognizable post-punk influences, even accompanied by arty, almost Mod fashions copied from original post-punk and new romantic bands. If you follow my blog, you should know by now that I'm a big fan of this kind of music, so I decided to make a special podcast featuring post-punk revival bands. I chose to leave out all the big names in order to promote new bands that are really well worth a listen. Although I've post some of these tracks in previous podcasts, there are still plenty of new tracks to explore. Enjoy! For the past two years Bynar has been running a music blog at http://www.djbynar.com, a podcast at http://bynar.podomatic.com and a weekly radio show at http://www.waveradio.gr featuring -mostly- indie rock music, along with some electro, synthpop, mash-ups and darker stuff. Lately he has been creating mash-ups which you can download from http://www.myspace.com/djbynar or http://last.fm/music/bynar. So if you fancy a perfect combination of effervescent dance beats, driving, droning guitars, shoegaze harmonies, infectious vocals and new wave aesthetics give him a listen!
