Il film ha luogo in un'America post-apocalittica, due mesi dopo l'invasione di zombie causata da carne di mucca infetta.

Lo studente Columbus sta cercando di raggiungere Columbus, in Ohio, per vedere se i suoi genitori sono ancora vivi. Dopo aver perso la sua macchina in un incidente incontra Tallahassee, un uomo in cerca dei

dolci Twinkie. Decidono di viaggiare insieme e quando si fermano in un negozio, incontrano due giovani sorelle, Wichita e Little Rock. Le sorelle li ingannano e prendono le loro armi e la loro macchina. Così i

due protagonisti si incamminano, e presto trovano un Hummer H2 con tanto di armi. Sulla strada ritrovano le due sorelle, che nuovamente tentano di rubare il loro veicolo, dato che la macchina si è rotta.

Columbus propone una tregua e di continuare il viaggio insieme.

confront a young woman whose sister has been bitten by a zombie and wants to be put out of her misery. The sisters were headed to an LA amusement park they've heard is zombie free. Can the kid from Ohio get to

his family? And what about rule thirty one?
