The game that defined the survival-horror genre is back! Check out the remastered HD version of Resident Evil.

In 1998 a special forces team is sent to investigate some bizarre murders on the outskirts of Raccoon City. Upon arriving they are attacked by a pack of blood-thirsty dogs and are forced to take cover in a nearby mansion. But the scent of death hangs heavy in the air. Supplies are scarce as they struggle to stay alive.

Graphics

• More detailed graphics that retain the horror.
  
• The environments come alive with detail thanks to resolution upgrades and non-static 3D models.

The minimum size of download is just 3,9 GB (classic videos, 720p @ 6 Mbps) - the smallest repack on the Net.

The game uses three different video sub-formats for different GFX settings (all in WMV format):

- 1920x1080 bitrate of 20 Mbps
- 1920x1080 bitrate of 8 Mbps
- 1280x720 bitrate of 6 Mbps (looks eeeh)

Moreover, each movie presented in 2 variants:

- Widescreen (fullscreen, 1080p)
- Classic ("square" with aspect ratio of 4:3, like we're living in PlayStation 1 era)

Useful info about installing & running the game

Please be sure to download all necessary files for extracting {spam link removed}

In example, for both Wide & Classic movies in High quality you need:

setup-fitgirl-main-1.bin
setup-fitgirl-main-2.bin
setup-fitgirl-main-3.bin
setup-fitgirl-optional-videos-high-quality-both.bin
setup-fitgirl-optional-videos-high-quality-classic.bin
setup-fitgirl-optional-videos-high-quality-wide.bin

You can skip either *classic or *wide to install one option only, *both.bin & *main*.bin must be present anyway.

The same apply to other quality packs.

If you select one (i.e. High) quality and one type (i.e. Wide), all other movies in all quality and types will be copied from your selection - EVERY movie will become HQ/Wide.

So you either download and install ALL quality packs or 2-3 BINs for any given quality.

You can't install High+Medium, or High+Low. So don't download HQ+MQ/HQ+LQ, but skipping LQ/MQ - it will be a waste of traffic.


Aspect Ratio fix for 4:3 displays

If your display has an aspect ratio of 4:3 (1280x1024, 1024x768, etc.),
you can fix the game display by adding this string:

Aspect=4:3

in the [DISPLAY] section of the config.ini, located in:

C:Users~Your User Name~AppDataLocalCAPCOMResident Evil - biohazard @ HD REMASTER

This folder will appear after the first game launch.

REHD Door Skip

REHD Door Skip utility icon will be placed on your desktop after installation.

You may run it AFTER you launched the game - it will operate on an open game proccess.

With this utility the animation of doors opening will be cut - this will speed up your game progression.
