Janus - HyvÃÃ matkaa 7_

It wasn't very sensible to form soul bands in Finland in the 1970's, because the organizers had rather little understanding of such music, and preferred hiring more saleable, plain rock'n'roll bands to entertain the youth. One soul unit who at least tried was Janus, formed by Maarit and Sami Hurmerinta. They cut one single for Love Records, and split right after that due to musical disagreements and lack of meaningful things to do.



"Hyvää matkaa" (Bon Voyage) is a splendid cover of Rufus & Chaka Khan's "You Got the Love", "Huono juttu" (Bad Thing) presents a Hurmerinta composition that doesn't pale much in comparison.
