Hi,

The last half year I tried to monitor my uploads. I like to known how many people appreciates certain uploads. I get annoyed while trackers report less uploads than Seeders or when they come up with some minor downloaded figures. Soldier from Angus and Julia for instance reported 790 the first day and 304 the next. Now it sais 194 downloads while I know that it should be more than 6000 (when I just look at the first three numbers of the IP address).

So I’ve written a small application and I noticed a lot of strange traffic (same requests for 99% from ten different servers for instance) and some IP addresses which downloaded almost all uploads. And I want to be as precise as possible.

So I thought when I upload a torrent that is not downloaded by a person, I will be able to see some automatic generated traffic, so I will be able to BLOCK this traffic in the future.

Thanks for doing nothing (if you did not read this and download anyway you will be blocked)

A similar upload is available on this site and If all goes well I probably will be able to say for sure that in the last 18 month more than 100.000 (Indie) playlists has been downloaded. Good for our Indie Artists and a good motivation to continue (its hard sometimes)

Hi Mido, I noticed 27 downloaders. All machines? Or people who cannot read. 100.000 WOW 50.000 would be enough motivation for me. Great. I thought it would be lot (seeding a lot myself) but this much. Well your playlists are great and I happen to like the music too. So i'm glad you started this. Interesting experiment :)

I must assume that there is a lot of machines out there, or a lot of complete idiots. Not one person found the torrent they really want (Sweetlist 02). Instead they asked to be blocked from Dutch Treat Playlists. Whether I will do that depends.
This Playlist happens to be one of my favourites and contains for an open mind, some mind blowing tracks. Songs that are able to expose the driving beauty in music. Then music can really heal. Blocking them would be stupid as well.\n
So the Playlist itself is undamaged, the folder is not. I guess all Downloads will then get stuck on 99,8% or so and must be stopped by hand. This way I learn a bit more about servers and IP ranges.\n
50.000 a good motivation? I talk about 30.000 (conservative) real uploads (> 100.000 playlists). 30.000 chances to respond. And excluding you, three or four have done so. Same with help seeding (bit less). It’s hit and run and cool not to care. I’m mostly seeding thieves. Not very motivating. Never worried about living in a world where people are not willing to share? I do.\n
But Music seems to be healing (harmonizing). So I probably do not stop (voluntarily). See it as a kind of load praying (wishing for us). The honesty and sincerity and the attention to detail (imperfection makes you smile) in the music nowadays tell their own (new, if you know the old one) story. As long you are willing to really listen. Or in my case, listen a lot : ).\n
Listening to Rise Up Careful. Some forgotten playlist with some amazing tracks (sounds to share). Music can come close. But sometimes it seems that all our efforts are aimed to hide and disguise ourselves. What am I, a machine or an Idiot. I’m really worried whether this game will end up in a liveable future.\n
